1. Add yourself to the group video.
2. apt-get install gspca-modules-2.6.18-6-686 (or whichever kernel you are running). If you cant find the package, you will have to apt-get install gspca-source and hen use module-assistant to install the modules.
3. Download skype debian file from skype
4. dpkg -i skype-debian_2.0.0.72-1_i386.deb (or the name of the file obtained above). It may ask for more packages to be installed (like libqt4-core libqt4-gui libqtcore4). Install them using apt-get.
5. start skype or kopete
6. start enjoying.
